New Testament Volume 16 - Acts Part 3
"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Romans 8:18
Lessons:
- PERSECUTION FOR CHRIST'S SAKE - The lame man begs; The lame man has faith in Jesus and walks; Peter and John imprisoned for preaching the Gospel; Peter and John preach to the rulers, are threatened by them, and continue preaching courageously.
- IN PRISON FOR CHRIST'S SAKE - The sick are healed in the name of Jesus; The apostles imprisoned for serving the Lord; The apostles preach the Gospel to the rulers; The apostles rejoice, though suffering and in disgrace.
- DEATH FOR CHRIST'S SAKE - Stephen and six others chosen to care for the poor; Stephen is falsely accused; Stephen boldly proclaims Christ; Stephen asks forgiveness for those who stoned him to death.
- SUFFERING IS COMMON TO ALL MANKIND- Almost everything Job had is destroyed; Some suffering is caused by sin; Job listens to God, forgives his unkind friends and receives God's blessing; Jesus Christ suffered and so shall we.
