Hymn Author: Mrs. C. F. Alexander Music - Dr. Henry J. Gauntlett Art Work - Frances Herzler
You will love this hymn! It is one of the older, less used carols. But the truths that are taught in it will make a lasting impression on children - and adults.
The alert teacher will immediately see that here is a hymn with a double useage. You can use it to teach the entire Christmas lesson - and, if you so desire, include the childhood of the Lord Jesus Christ. The only scene that is missing from the hymn is the visit of the Wise Men. So that picture appears on the back cover.
By keeping the words folded to the back, only the pictures will be seen. The children will be delighted to see the Christmas lesson told with flashcards. May the One whose birth we celebrate be honored in the singing of the hymn and the telling of the story.
